UK Government Department for International Development. The section on DFID funded research includes theResearch4Development (R4D) Research Portal, which has a browsable and searchable list at Projects and Programmes.

Resource Guides with Access to more than 26,000 summarised documents from over 7,500 development organisations - all available free to download. Share your work with over 80,000 development practitioners.  

Intute

A gateway to Internet resources useful for HE teaching and research work, "created by a network of UK universities and partners". Several sections are relevant to development studies.  Intute also contains the Virtual Training Suite, "free Internet tutorials to help you learn how to get the best from the Web for your education and research." The Internet for Development tutorial is from Eldis; this page is very heavily indebted to it.

USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development)

"The principal U.S. agency to extend assistance to countries recovering from disaster, trying to escape poverty, and engaging in democratic reforms ... supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives." Site details USAID's work by topic and region/country. Includes link to the Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC), a database of USAID funded technical and program documentation.
